Selected Service Summaries
Updated to Version 5
(Effective Sunday 18th February 07)
Selected V/Line Service Summaries at V/LineCars.com have been
updated to Version 5, effective as of Sunday 18th February
2007.
This update is
due to the alterations to services on the Northern Region
which have been altered with an increase in Echuca services
operating.
The update
applies to the
'All DMU/Railcar
Services', 'Northern',
'Southern Cross' and 'VLocity'
service
summaries.

Locomotives &
Rollingstock Database Update in Place
The V/LineCars.com Locomotives & Rollingstock Database
is presently in the process of being updated to enable
uniformity across the board of carriage, van and in a coming
up section, locomotive information.
At this
stage, information for each carriage and van will include:-

Carriage Designation & Number

Date carriage entered service with current designation &
number
-
Current livery carriage is in
-
Current carriage set carriage is in
-
Piston/Valve replacement dates

Previous designations / numbers

Original in service date

Power Door Status (N Sets) - installed/not installed

General Notes
And
more information depending on the type of carriage/van.
New image galleries for each carriage/van are also being
developed to make it easier to view and find photos of a
specific carriage/van type.

Service Summaries Updated to
Version 4
(Effective Sunday 11th February 07)
Details for each revenue
V/Line service (train
number, departure time, location the train is travelling to
and from, arrival time, consist and any relevant notes) and
several empty cars services are listed, and summaries are
sorted by both the location (Southern Cross), region
(Eastern, Northern, North Eastern, South Western, Western)
and type of train operating the service (Loco Hauled / DMU
or Railcar) – a valuable resource for Victorians and those
in Victoria trainspotting V/Line’s passenger services!

The summaries are now also in
a new format, which allows them to be automatically
generated from a database, taking less time to update and
produce them.
However, at this stage the summaries are only available in
PDF format. The HTML format summaries still have to be
manually made, meaning it takes a significantly larger
amount of time to produce. These are intended to be online
for most regions by Thursday 15th February 2007.

January 1st 2007 marks the first
anniversary of V/LineCars.com being launched into the World
Wide Web.I would like to thank

Upcoming
New V/Line Timetable Now Released
Premier of Victoria, Mr. Steve Bracks announced details of
the upcoming new V/Line timetable which will be in effect
from 3rd September.
At the
press announcement at Ballarat station this morning, Mr.
Bracks stated that rail services to regional Victoria will
increase by 41%, with 287 new weekday peak, off-peak and
late night services, and 114 new weekend services.

VLocity Services Summary has now been uploaded to V/LineCars.com.
This is the only source at present of information on VLocity runs
on the Bendigo line, with V/Line opting not to release a timetable
similar to that of the Ballarat and Geelong lines, stating which
services are operated by VLocities.
